The Making of UpChi Corporation
2013: The Humble Beginnings
It was the year 2013. Deep pockets of capital funds were absent but brimming with rock-solid manpower, we ventured out as a subcontractor. Our dreams seemed larger than our means, yet we were determined. Armed with our collective skills, we started building houses, offices, buildings, and mall stalls. With grit and perseverance, we carefully laid bricks, one by one, metaphorically and physically.
2014: Touch of Cool Success
Less than a year later, leveraging lessons learned and skills honed during six grueling years as a Plant Mechanic and a decade-long tenure as a Facilities Manager, our CEO kick-started MDGM Airconditioning Services in 2014. The venture leveraged his expertise to serve clients across the Philippines. We notched a significant milestone, installing more than 1000 air conditioning units across the country. This endeavor not only brought us financial profits but also instilled in us valuable business acumen.
Yet, our pursuit of customer satisfaction alerted us to a prevailing issue. Our air conditioning units caused a spike in our clients' energy bills, heightening their financial burden, and inadvertently taxing our environment.
2019: Enlightened by the Sun
Determined to address the dual issues of high energy bills and environmental sustainability, we expanded our business portfolio in 2019 and launched UpChi Services. Harnessing solar power's limitless potential, we began to install solar panels, thereby catalyzing our clients' transition towards renewable energy. This strategic move not merely broadened our revenue streams but also underscored our intent to rally in favor of environmental conservation. The universe reciprocated our good intentions, showering us with positive feedback and happy clients in droves.
However, this expansion exposed a stark challenge – the painstaking transportation of our raw materials, which was not economical nor efficient.
2020 The Pivot and Formation of UpChi Hauling Services
Along came the year 2020, the onset of COVID-19 brought businesses to a screeching halt. One saving grace amidst the chaos was our L300 unit, becoming our bread and butter, hauling food and necessities during the lockdown.
Understanding the need for resilience and adaptation in these unprecedented times, we promptly acquired two additional L300 units after three months of lockdown to establish UpChi Hauling Services.
2021 The Merger - Upchi Corporation
Managing multiple business units led to administrative challenges, particularly regarding income tax filings. Consequently, in 2021, we decided to merge all our business units. We blended our primary business of contracting, along with air conditioning, tracking/hauling, and solar services under a new name: Upchi Corporation.
The new title was a reflection of our comprehensive range of services and signaled our growth aspirations. At the same time, it resonated with our customer-centric approach and commitment towards sustainability.
Present Day and Beyond
Today, UpChi Corporation stands tall as a QUALITY provider of air conditioning, housing, hauling, and solar services, with a proven record of outstanding customer satisfaction. The organization's journey embodies not merely the triumph of perseverance over adversity but also the constant desire for growth and wisdom from experiences.
